You can’t stay Yonge forever – and that’s why I used the Liquid Scale app to remove the longest street in the world from my picture. All I had to do was load the image inside of Liquid Scale, paint Yonge street in ‘red’ to indicate that it was one of the first things that should be cropped out, and then I just pinched the photo together — literally squeezing the disgustingly long street right out of the picture.

Many of the most enjoyable types of digital photography are, unhappily, seasonal. If you love to shoot baseball or football sports action, you’ll have to wait until baseball or football season kicks off. Should your passion be shooting autumn colors as the leaves change after summer’s end, you’ll have to wait until September and October of each year. Wildlife and nature photography isn’t impossible during the winter months, but it’s usually more exciting during the Spring. Architectural photos often look their best with leaves on the surrounding trees.

I’m out there chasing down blossoming flowers and looking for interesting bugs to capture on digital film. In July, I end up at the beach shooting shells and shore creatures. Come late September, I grab close-up shots of leaves. And during the long winters, I have my macro tabletop set up so I can shoot pictures of anything that captures my fancy. Indeed, close-up photography and portraits are what I photograph most during the cold months.
